HVACR-R Apprenticeship - Hybrid This HVAC related instruction (RTI) is in accordance with the U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL), Office of Apprenticeship. The course presents technical instruction for the trade and is intended to complement on-the-job learning. If a student is not working in the occupation, they are still eligible to enroll in the course. The school will provide job leads when available, but it is the student's responsibility to have an employer to sponsor and register them as an apprentice with the USDOL Office of Apprenticeship. HVAC is four-year apprenticeship and an apprentice must complete: • 8,000 Hours (4 years) Structured On-the-Job Learning • 576 Hours (144 hours minimum per year) Related Technical Instruction Classroom instruction consists of safety, operations, heating systems, heat pumps, national code, hot water heat servicing and more. This 144-hour one year course consists of 2 semesters beginning in October and completion in April. It is a hybrid program with some sessions in-person on-site and some online assignments. Students are required to have internet access to participate and/or complete online assignments. Course cost does not include textbook. Required Textbook can be purchased at Pearson NCCER - NCCER Heating, Venting, and Air Conditioning, Level 1 Trainee Guide, ISBN #13-978-0135185094 Monday (in person) / Wednesday (virtual) If school is closed on a Monday, then refer to the "Class Schedule" listed below.
